Once Mochi felt safe, Ymeraj took her to the vet. There, she learned that Mochi had a microchip.
Although Ymeraj had grown deeply attached, she made the difficult choice to leave Mochi with the vet so they could locate her original family.

A week later, Ymeraj received unexpected news. Mochi’s family could no longer care for her and asked whether Ymeraj would consider adopting her.
Without hesitation, she said yes.
In that moment, Mochi officially became hers.
