They comfort each other
Blind Puppy Nearly Lost Everything — Until Love Led Her Back to Her Sister
Late last year, dog rescuer Karla Schneider Boss got a call that no animal lover wants to hear: a tiny, blind puppy was wandering in the middle of a busy street, dangerously close to being hit by a car.
“I can’t imagine a little puppy that size in the middle of the street, but especially a blind puppy,” dog rescue Frankie Lola and Friends shared on Instagram.
Karla rushed to the scene and brought the pup home, naming her Madison. At first, Madison bumped into everything — walls, furniture, corners — but she never gave up.
“She was so cute and so brave,” Boss said. “She’s like, ‘I’ll figure this out. I got it.’”
A Surprise Reunion
Just one week later, something incredible happened. Karla rescued another puppy — and to her amazement, it was Madison’s sister, whom she named Sissy.
The reunion was instant joy.
“It was like they hadn’t even been apart,” Karla said. “It was adorable.”
Together again, the sisters comforted and guided each other through puppyhood. But as time went on, Sissy found a forever home with a woman named Cynthia Howard — and Madison was left behind.
Cynthia, however, couldn’t stop thinking about the one left waiting.
“I kept seeing puppy Madison pop up,” she said. “She wasn’t getting adopted … I talked to my husband, ‘What if we adopted her sister?’ And he was like, ‘Sure!’”
Together, Forever
Madison — now Zoey — joined Sissy (Lulu) in their new forever home. Just like before, the sisters picked up where they left off: cuddling, playing, and always staying close.
Cynthia went out of her way to make their house safe and welcoming for Zoey’s blindness. She added bells to the doors, used different scents around the home, and even got rid of pointy furniture to help Zoey navigate safely.
“[Zoey] is SO capable and it’s been such an inspiration to watch her grow,” Cynthia wrote. “And Lulu has helped her every step of the way.”
From a street filled with danger to a home filled with love, Zoey and Lulu are now inseparable — for life.
