LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — HumaneCNY will host its Stock the Shelter fundraiser and Huge Silent Auction on Saturday, Sept. 26, to help provide food, supplies and medical care for hundreds of homeless animals.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at HumaneCNY, located at 4915 W. Taft Road in Liverpool.
The silent auction will feature a popular “Buy Now” option, allowing attendees to purchase select items and take them home immediately.
A new addition this year will appeal to card makers, label designers and other craft enthusiasts. The event will feature a large Stampin’ Up collection with paper in a variety of sizes, colors and patterns, along with hundreds of inks, stamps, ink pads, markers, dyes, trims and embellishments.
Community members attending the fundraiser are also encouraged to bring donations from HumaneCNY’s wish list, including:
- Hill’s Science Diet dry adult dog food
- Non-clumping cat litter
- Stew-style canned dog food of any brand
- Purina One Sensitive Skin & Stomach dry cat food
- Pâté-style canned cat and kitten food of any brand
- Cat treats
- Churus and Delectables Squeeze-Ups
- Hand soap
- Bleach
- Laundry detergent and dryer sheets
- Paper towels
- Toilet paper
- Garbage bags, 30 gallons or larger
- Postage stamps
- Window cleaner
- Medium and large martingale collars
- Flat sheets, comforters, blankets and towels
The fundraiser comes at a time when the shelter is facing growing veterinary expenses related to neglected animals and an increase in hoarding cases.
“We desperately need funds to pay for the ever-increasing animal medical care due to the number of neglected animals and increase in hoarding situations,” said Maureen Davison, shelter director. “We are grateful for all our supporters, volunteers, and donors and are looking forward to a great day.”
Those unable to attend can still support HumaneCNY by making an online donation toward medical care through the shelter’s website. Donations can also be mailed to 4915 W. Taft Road, Liverpool, NY 13088, or sent through Venmo to @humanecny under Select Charities.
Proceeds and donated supplies from the event will help HumaneCNY continue caring for animals in need while easing the growing financial pressure created by medical cases and large-scale rescues.
