Jennifer McKee, a dedicated dog rescuer from San Antonio, never hesitates to help animals in need. So, when she came across a Facebook post about a mother dog and her two puppies abandoned in a park, she immediately jumped into action.
Upon arriving, McKee found the little family huddled together on a rain-soaked blanket. She approached cautiously, worried she might scare them, but quickly realized they were eager for help.
βThey were sleeping, so I was quiet and slow,β McKee told The Dodo. βI didnβt speak, just offered the mama some turkey. She took it and was starving, licking the bowl like crazy.β
The mother dog, skin and bones and with matted fur, was clearly exhausted, while the puppies seemed in better condition. McKee gently loaded them into her car and brought them to safety, unsure how long they had been abandoned but determined to change their lives.
After a visit to the vet, McKee began fostering the family until they could find permanent homes. Naming the mother dog Nova and the puppies Peaches and Tankβwith help from her TikTok communityβshe quickly made up for the love and care theyβd missed.
Now in her care, Nova and her pups are experiencing pure joy for the first time. Theyβve been shopping, indulged in pup cups, and even met Santa.
βMama sat so nice with Santa, and we have beautiful photos to show their future forever families,β McKee shared on TikTok.
The once-abandoned trio is now thriving in foster care, being spoiled and loved as theyβve always deserved. McKee is committed to finding each of them a forever home where they will be cherished and cared for.
βThey may never have known love before,β McKee said, βbut now theyβll never know anything but joy.β
