A Dream Date for Snaggle
Jack Champion walked into his Dream Date with excitement and confidence. He was eager to meet his date, a brave little dog named Snaggle, and he hoped they’d hit it off immediately.
The first thing Jack did when Snaggle arrived was offer him peanut butter—a gesture that set the tone for a fun and heartwarming date.
Snaggle’s Story
Snaggle came to Muddy Paws Rescue in New York City after being hit by a car. Now living his best tripod life, he just needed someone to share it with.
“He’s such a brave guy,” Jack said.
Conversation and Treats
The pair began the date by opening jars filled with treats and conversation starters. One jar contained a dog cookie with a fire emoji, a nod to Jack’s upcoming movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash. Another asked about dating deal-breakers. For Snaggle, it was being ignored. Jack thought about his own deal-breakers:
“If someone doesn’t like dogs — I mean, what’s wrong with you?” he laughed. “There could not be a bigger deal-breaker to me than someone that doesn’t like dogs.”
Learning Each Other’s Preferences
Some jars contained blueberries, which Jack quickly learned Snaggle doesn’t enjoy. Another cookie, this one featuring the Avatar logo, tempted Jack to sneak a bite before sharing it with Snaggle.
“Actually, not bad,” he said.
As the date continued, the pair grew closer. Jack shared stories about his hairless cat, Butters, and even showed a plushie made in Butters’ likeness that he could cuddle while filming. Jack knows how much comfort a pet can bring, and he was excited to help Snaggle find a loving home.
“I’d say my animals are honestly my biggest comfort,” he said.
A Special Connection
The final jar contained a cookie labeled Dream Date, and Snaggle eagerly took a bite. Jack reflected on how Snaggle reminded him of his childhood dog, Sierra, who had recently passed, and how perfect Snaggle would be as a family member.
“I think anyone would be insanely lucky to have Snaggle in their life,” Jack said. “This date went amazingly, and Snaggle is a very, very special boy.”
A Happy Ending
Since the Dream Date, Snaggle has been adopted and is thriving in his forever home, surrounded by love and care.
