Security footage later revealed what had happened:
- The dog had fallen from above onto a rooftop tent
- He wandered around, confused
- Eventually curled up in a corner and waited
The pup, later named Rieger, had likely been there since 1:24 a.m., surviving hours alone in rough weather.
Even more disturbing, rescuers believe he may have been thrown from a nearby bridge.

Despite everything, Rieger stayed calm.
He found shelter under an AC unit, which likely protected him from the elements. When help finally arrived, he didn’t run — he was ready to be rescued.
