Wildlife expert Kate MacRae—also known as WildlifeKate—set up more than 20 hidden cameras at a site called Yew View near the River Severn.
After years of patience, her cameras captured:

While badger births have been filmed before, those were in captivity—making this footage potentially the first ever recorded in natural conditions.
Two Years Of Waiting
MacRae didn’t just get lucky—this took serious effort:
- She built an artificial badger sett (underground den)
- Installed infrared and HD cameras
- Waited… for two full years
At first, the sett was explored by:

- Polecats
- Rats
- Even a domestic cat
Eventually, badgers began using it—and then, something incredible happened.

A female badger moved in, bringing bedding—clear signs she was preparing to give birth.
