Singer, songwriter and social media star Bella Poarch was thrilled to meet her adorable date — a playful and energetic rescue pup named Spritz.
Spritz seemed just as excited to meet Bella.
Bella arrived prepared with a collection of “mystery jars” filled with treats, toys and cards featuring fun get-to-know-you questions.
Spritz, a rescue dog from Muddy Paws Rescue NYC, was more than ready to join in.
“Let’s see if we’re a good match,” Bella said as she opened the first jar and discovered a tasty snack for Spritz.
During their time together, Bella shared a few personal details about her life with animals. When asked what secret her own pets might reveal about her, she admitted that she is a very talkative cat mom.
“I have three cats. Their names are PeePee, WeeWee and DooDoo,” Bella said. “I talk a lot at home when I’m just chilling with my pets. It’s because I feel like they honestly understand me more than people. I’m naturally introverted with people. But with animals, I feel like I’m not as introverted.”
Between treats and playtime, Bella also opened up about the inspiration behind her song “Bighead,” featured on her debut album, Picnic at the Cemetery, released on September 18.
“I had imaginary friends growing up,” Bella said. “‘Bighead’ is just about how I grew up with imaginary friends, and how they kept me safe from a home that was not a good home for me. It was very healing writing that song.”
When asked which song from the album best matched Spritz’s personality, Bella had an immediate answer.
“I think the best song for Spritz is ‘Chase Me,’” Bella said. “It’s this really, really fun song that is about being chased. And I feel like that is her. That is so Spritz. It’s a hyper song, and she’s very energetic, so I feel like she would definitely listen to that song, too.”
Even as their time together came to an end, Spritz remained as cheerful and energetic as ever. Bella surprised her with a special gift basket filled with goodies to take with her when she eventually joined her forever family.
Not long after their meeting, Spritz found exactly that — a loving home of her own.
Bella was confident that her new family had gained a wonderful companion.
“Spritz is very energetic, and I love that about her,” Bella said. “And she’s very playful and very easy to get along with.”
