Meet Peach, the Adorable Cat Who Loves Floating in the Bathtub
When Peach was adopted as a tiny kitten about a year ago, her family had no idea how much personality she would bring into their home. Since then, theyβve discovered that Peach is a little ball of chaos β and they love her for it.
βSheβs your typical ginger cat β full of zoomies, always demanding attention, and not the best at keeping her balance β sheβs fallen off the top of the fridge more than once,β Peachβs mom, Holly Fairbrass, shared with The Dodo.
One of Peachβs most charming (and unexpected) quirks? She loves bath time β but not in the way youβd think. From the beginning, Peach was fascinated by the bathtub. She would sit on the edge and curiously watch her mom during her baths. That got her parents thinking β maybe Peach would enjoy floating in the bath, too.
βWe figured, why not see if sheβd sit in a mixing bowl and float?β Fairbrass said. βAs soon as she felt the warm water, she was totally into it.β
Since that first floating adventure, Peach has become obsessed with lounging in the bath. Her parents have turned finding the perfect “boat” into a family project β testing all kinds of creative options.
βWeβve experimented with everything β from mixing bowls surrounded by kidsβ inflatable rings to sink basins propped up with pool noodles,β Fairbrass said, laughing. βItβs way harder than youβd think to find something thatβs both a good cat bed and floats!β
Though there have been a few splashy accidents when a boat didnβt quite hold up, Peach doesn’t seem to mind. Sheβs always excited to try a new vessel β especially since sheβs growing fast and some of her earlier “boats” are now too small.
βRight now, her favorite is a huge mixing bowl we found at a local store,β Fairbrass said. βSheβs officially outgrown all the smaller ones.β
Clearly, Peach was born to sail β and her parents are more than happy to help her live out her floating dreams.
