Meet Peach, the Adorable Cat Who Loves Floating in the Bathtub
When Peach was adopted as a tiny kitten about a year ago, her family had no idea how much personality she would bring into their home. Since then, theyโve discovered that Peach is a little ball of chaos โ and they love her for it.
โSheโs your typical ginger cat โ full of zoomies, always demanding attention, and not the best at keeping her balance โ sheโs fallen off the top of the fridge more than once,โ Peachโs mom, Holly Fairbrass, shared with The Dodo.
One of Peachโs most charming (and unexpected) quirks? She loves bath time โ but not in the way youโd think. From the beginning, Peach was fascinated by the bathtub. She would sit on the edge and curiously watch her mom during her baths. That got her parents thinking โ maybe Peach would enjoy floating in the bath, too.
โWe figured, why not see if sheโd sit in a mixing bowl and float?โ Fairbrass said. โAs soon as she felt the warm water, she was totally into it.โ
Since that first floating adventure, Peach has become obsessed with lounging in the bath. Her parents have turned finding the perfect “boat” into a family project โ testing all kinds of creative options.
โWeโve experimented with everything โ from mixing bowls surrounded by kidsโ inflatable rings to sink basins propped up with pool noodles,โ Fairbrass said, laughing. โItโs way harder than youโd think to find something thatโs both a good cat bed and floats!โ
Though there have been a few splashy accidents when a boat didnโt quite hold up, Peach doesn’t seem to mind. Sheโs always excited to try a new vessel โ especially since sheโs growing fast and some of her earlier “boats” are now too small.
โRight now, her favorite is a huge mixing bowl we found at a local store,โ Fairbrass said. โSheโs officially outgrown all the smaller ones.โ
Clearly, Peach was born to sail โ and her parents are more than happy to help her live out her floating dreams.
