Zosia Mamet’s Heartwarming Date with Champ: A Dog Looking for His Forever Home
When actress Zosia Mamet first met Champ, her Dodo Dream Date, she was thrilled to spend some quality time with him. Champ, a 10-year-old dog, had been single for a year and a half after his previous owner surrendered him. Despite his age, he was full of energy and optimism, eagerly waiting for the perfect family to adopt him.
“The main goal of this date, obviously, is for me to hang out with Champ,” Zosia told The Dodo. “But beyond that … it’s for Champ to find his forever home. And who wouldn’t want this joyful, energetic pup in their life?”
Zosia and Champ kicked off their date by playing an energetic game of fetch, which turned into a full-on, high-energy activity.
“This is a full-contact sport,” Zosia joked, as the two raced to retrieve the ball, matching each other’s energy perfectly.
After they had enough of fetch, they took a breather and exchanged a few fun facts about each other using premade fact cards. Champ’s “A Year in the Life of Champ” card revealed that he had visited the beach for the first time and discovered a new hobby: collecting large branches on his walks. Zosia’s card mentioned her role in the upcoming Peacock show, Laid, along with her time spent horseback riding and growing out her hair.
Next up, the duo played a special game of giant Jenga, using peanut butter. However, the game didn’t last long before they heard the doorbell ring, signaling a tasty food delivery.
“Wanna hang out with me and watch something?” Zosia asked Champ, and the pair ended their date snuggled up together with some snacks, watching a movie.
Zosia was thoroughly charmed by Champ and reflected on what kind of home would suit him best.
“I think Champ would thrive in a home where he gets lots of snuggles, perhaps with some young kids or another dog who loves to play, and then just shower his owners with huge, loving hugs,” Zosia shared. “To me, that’s the perfect dog.”
