It needed to be thoroughly cleaned after π
For one Florida woman, a moment of panic turned into an unforgettable β and surprisingly funny β story after she realized her engagement ring had vanished.
She searched high and low, retracing every step, but the precious ring was nowhere to be found. Then one possible culprit came to mind: her mischievous dog, Smokey.

When she looked at Smokey, he gazed back with his usual innocent expression β the perfect poker face. But his mom couldnβt shake the feeling that he might know more than he was letting on.
Luckily, Smokeyβs mom had a close friend who could help: Julie Noyes, a veterinarian and owner of Kind Animal Care in Spring Hill, Florida. Smokey was a regular at the clinic, and Noyes knew him well.
βHeβs a big goofball and very sweet,β Noyes told The Dodo.

Smokeyβs mom texted Noyes, asking a very unusual question: βHow long would it take Smokey to pass my engagement ring if he swallowed it?β
The message left Noyes both concerned and in stitches. βIn all my years as a vet, Iβve seen dogs eat socks, toys, even rocks β but never an engagement ring,β she said.
She quickly told Smokeyβs mom to bring him in for an X-ray. Sure enough, the image revealed a shiny circular object right inside his stomach β the missing ring.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief that the ring was safe, but retrieving it was another story. Noyes tried several methods to help Smokey pass it naturally, even keeping him overnight at the clinic. Despite her best efforts, the stubborn piece of jewelry refused to budge.
βSmokeyβs mom was such a trooper and let us do whatever was needed to get the ring back,β Noyes said.
Eventually, Smokey went home to rest after his unexpected adventure. A week later, his mom finally got the good news β Smokey had passed the ring all on his own.
After a thorough cleaning, the treasured piece of jewelry was back where it belonged β sparkling on her finger. As for Smokey, heβs back to his old self, sticking to dog treats and leaving the diamonds alone.
