She’s a cuddle queen.
Iris the Pup Prefers Napping on Other Dogs — and Everyone Loves Her for It
When Iris first started doggy daycare at Alpha Doggy PlayCare, her mom, Ebony Magyar, wasn’t worried — the little pup is a known social butterfly. But within just a week, Iris made her quirky preferences known: she doesn’t nap on dog beds or the floor like the other dogs — she naps on top of them.
Her favorite “beds”? The biggest, fluffiest dogs in the room.

“Iris is always looking for a warm lap to curl up on,” Magyar told The Dodo. “Blankets also seem to have magical powers… so it makes sense she’d choose fluffy dogs as the ultimate comfort.”
The first pup to become her napping buddy was a giant Leonberger. From there, Iris grew bolder, snoozing on dogs’ heads or wedging herself between napping pairs. Despite her tiny size, the other dogs welcome her affection — and now, Iris even waits patiently for her preferred fluffy companions to lie down before she climbs aboard.
Daycare staff have noticed that she’s picky about her “beds,” but the unspoken rule seems to be: the fluffier, the better.

But Iris isn’t just there to nap. Her playful spirit has also had a big impact on the more nervous pups. “She brings shy puppies out of their shell,” Magyar said. “She doesn’t just play — she helps teach them how.”
Still, for all her daycare antics, Iris saves the biggest piece of her heart for her mom.

“She’s just a huge personality,” Magyar said. “The best part of my day is picking her up and getting those kiss attacks, then cuddling with her until bedtime.”
From a bold cuddlebug to a therapy pup-in-training, Iris is proof that sometimes the best friends — and best beds — come with four legs and a whole lot of fluff.
