Every morning at exactly the right time, something special happens in Ciudad Perico.
Before most customers arrive at Deligo Café, there’s already someone waiting patiently by the door.
His name is Buddys — and he’s the café’s most loyal regular.
Always First In Line
Buddys, a black-and-white street dog, somehow knows exactly when the café opens.
Like clockwork, he shows up early, ready to start his day.
“We expect him,” said Diego, one of the café owners. “He always comes at the same time.”
A Special Menu Just For Him 🐾
While coffee and pastries aren’t on Buddys’ menu, the café has something better waiting:
- Dog food kept just for him
- Occasional sandwich treats
- Plenty of love and attention
It’s a routine both Buddys and the owners look forward to every day.
Loved By An Entire Community
Even though Buddys is a street dog, he’s far from alone.
He and his pack — Capuchino, Chilindria, Malvavisco and Pichilina — are cared for by neighbors throughout the area.
Still, Buddys never skips his café visit.
More Than Just A Customer
When Diego and Gabriela opened their café, they hoped to create a warm, welcoming place.
They didn’t expect their most devoted visitor would have four legs.
Now, Buddys is part of what makes their café feel like home.
“Every time he shows up, we get really happy,” Diego said.
The Best Way To Start The Day
For Buddys, the day doesn’t begin until he stops by the café.
And for everyone inside, the day is instantly better when he does.
