She was so high up 😰
Last weekend in Dallas, Texas, a normal Saturday evening turned into a surprising rescue after an animal control officer discovered a dog stranded in a dangerous place.
The officer had been called to an area near Topeka Avenue, beneath a busy highway overpass. When they arrived, they spotted a frightened dog perched high on top of a concrete pillar under the bridge. Cars were moving below, and the dog was sitting tens of feet above the ground.

The location was extremely hard to reach. Although the dog, later named Trinity, did not appear badly hurt or panicked, she was stuck in a place where the animal control officer could not safely get to her alone.
Trinity stayed calm as the officer tried to figure out how to help. When it became clear that special equipment would be needed, the officer called 911.
Soon, Dallas Fire-Rescue arrived at the scene. At first, the area seemed nearly impossible to access, but the firefighters used a ladder truck to reach the concrete beams beneath the bridge.

Once they were close enough, the firefighters carefully secured Trinity with a net. They then placed her on a stretcher and slowly lowered her back down to the ground.
Everyone was relieved when Trinity was finally safe on the pavement.
No one knows exactly how she ended up on the overpass pillar or how long she had been there. Dallas Animal Services later determined that Trinity was a stray, and no family appeared to be searching for her.

Thankfully, Trinity was not physically injured. After being brought to Dallas Animal Services, she began to relax, and her sweet personality started to shine. As the days passed, she became more playful and affectionate with the people caring for her.
Now, Trinity is waiting at the shelter for someone to adopt her. She enjoys playing with her shelter friends, but what she wants most is a home of her own.
After surviving such a frightening and unusual ordeal, Trinity has proven just how brave she is. Until the right family finds her, the team at Dallas Animal Services will keep giving her the love, comfort and care she deserves.
