“He wanted to be held and told everything would be OK” 🥺
On a chilly January day in St. Louis, Missouri, police officers spotted a black-and-white dog wandering alone through a neighborhood. They quickly secured the scared pup and called Stray Rescue of St. Louis (SRSL) for help.
Donna Lochmann, leader of SRSL’s rescue team, arrived soon after and took Bowie into her care. As she gently lifted him into the car, Bowie nestled into her shoulder and let out a deep, relieved sigh.

“This sweet baby boy was beside himself, running the streets all alone,” SRSL shared on Facebook. “He wanted to be held and told everything would be OK.”
Throughout the car ride, Lochmann comforted Bowie, reminding him how special he was. The connection was immediate — the once-frightened dog finally felt safe and loved.
“We love him already,” SRSL wrote.

Just days later, Bowie found a wonderful foster family ready to help him prepare for adoption. On his first car ride to his new home, Bowie was all smiles, happily riding alongside his two new best friends.
“See how happy Bowie is to go to foster?” SRSL wrote. “That’s how we feel!”
While his foster parents adored him instantly, it was Bowie’s new furry brother, Ramone, who stole his heart.

“Ramone is absolutely smitten with him,” Bowie’s foster, Anne-Marie Theresa, commented. “He loves to play with other dogs and is a professional snuggle bug!”
In the months since his rescue, Bowie has blossomed with his devoted foster family. Though still searching for his forever home, those caring for him are confident that the perfect family will soon realize just how incredible he is.
“He loves cuddling with people and learning new things!” SRSL shared. The local community has fallen in love with Bowie — even Imo’s Pizza has offered to cover his adoption fee.
All that’s left is for someone to give this wonderful pup a forever family.
“This is one great pup, and he’s ready for you!” SRSL wrote.
