“He knew exactly what to do β€οΈ”
Stranded on a golf course in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, a young great horned owl found itself in a predicament with no solution in sight. Upon learning of the orphaned chick, local animal advocates rushed to the location, determined to ensure its safety. Before long, the chick was under the care of the dedicated professionals at Raven Ridge Wildlife Center.
Understanding the importance of preserving the owl chick’s wild instincts, staff at Raven Ridge Wildlife Center took measures to prevent it from becoming overly accustomed to human presence. They introduced a fluffy white owl stuffed animal into the chick’s enclosure. Finding comfort in the familiar sight, the baby owl nestled against the stuffed animal, mimicking the behavior it would exhibit with its real mother in the wild.
Young is optimistic that with Pharaoh’s assistance, this young owl will swiftly return to the skies.
“[Pharaoh] is truly remarkable,” Young remarked. “And when we release these owlets, they are fully prepared. They show no interest in human contact.”
