Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, an award-winning zoo and conservation charity in North Somerset, has announced the return of its popular Kids Go Free promotion this winter, giving families a chance to enjoy a budget-friendly day out.

The offer will run from 27 December through 1 February and is designed to help families make the most of the winter season, a time that can often be financially and emotionally demanding. Terms and conditions apply.

The announcement comes after a record-breaking year of visitor numbers at the zoo, highlighting a growing interest in wildlife, conservation efforts, and accessible family experiences.

January is widely known as one of the toughest months for households, with post-holiday expenses and rising living costs leaving many families searching for affordable activities. By reintroducing Kids Go Free, Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm hopes to offer a welcome boost — encouraging families to reconnect with nature and spend meaningful time together.

Larry Bush, Managing Director of Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, explained the motivation behind the initiative:

“January can be a challenging period for many families. Bringing back our Kids Go Free offer is our way of helping people enjoy quality time together while exploring the animals and open spaces here at the zoo. After such an incredible year for visitor numbers, we’re proud to keep the zoo as accessible as possible for our community.”

Bush also highlighted the return of another much-loved initiative — the zoo’s Christmas tree recycling campaign.

“We’re aiming to recycle up to 4,000 donated Christmas trees this year,” he said. “These trees are transformed into enrichment, mulch, and compost, benefiting our animals and the environment. It’s one of our favourite ways to start the year, supporting wildlife, sustainability, and the local community all at once.”

Spanning more than 100 acres, Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm is home to a wide variety of animals, including African elephants, white rhinos, lions, Andean bears, and Aqua, the rescued tiger. Visitors can enjoy spacious enclosures, daily keeper talks, and engaging educational experiences throughout the site.

The zoo also offers plenty beyond animal encounters. With indoor and outdoor play areas, interactive exhibits, and expansive green spaces, it’s an ideal destination for children to burn off energy and for families to enjoy fresh air during the winter months.

Under the Kids Go Free promotion, children receive free entry when accompanied by a full-paying adult or concession ticket holder. The offer is valid from 27 December and throughout January.

Located just outside Bristol, Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm also provides free parking and features a Farm Shop serving seasonal food and drinks — perfect for warming up on colder days.
