A heartwarming rescue unfolded as a fox cub found itself in a precarious predicament, its head firmly lodged in a sink plughole in a garden in Basildon. After enduring several hours of distress, the cub’s plight caught the attention of rescuers from the South Essex Wildlife Hospital, located in nearby Orsett.
With skill and patience, a vet from the hospital delicately maneuvered to free the fox cub from its constricted confinement. Through careful wiggling and gentle persistence, the cub was liberated from its unlikely trap, eliciting a sigh of relief from all involved.
However, the ordeal had taken its toll on the young fox, resulting in swelling to its paws. As a precautionary measure, the fox was administered a course of antibiotics, and a thorough X-ray was conducted to ensure no further injuries had been sustained.
Once deemed fit for release, the resilient cub was returned to the garden where it had been found, allowing it the opportunity to reunite with its family and resume its natural course of life. In a bid to prevent similar mishaps in the future, the sink involved in the incident has been relocated, ensuring the safety of both wildlife and humans alike.
