“Every dog has a story β a narrative woven with both hardship and love. For Rhoudy, a 3-year-old terrier mix, his tale encompasses a significant dose of both.
Rhoudy found himself surrendered by his family, eventually finding refuge at the Greenville Humane Society in South Carolina. The reasons behind his family’s decision to part with him remain unclear, but it’s evident that it wasn’t a choice made lightly.”
Upon Rhoudy’s arrival at the shelter, there was a poignant note accompanying him, a testament to the enduring love from those who cared for him.
The heartfelt note, seemingly penned by children who shared a bond with Rhoudy, expressed:
βWe love you, Rhoudy. I will miss you, Rhoudy. But you’re going home! And I hope your new family loves you as much as I do. Love, [redacted]. You’re a good boy!!!β
The staff at the Greenville Humane Society were deeply moved by your note, prompting us to send a heartfelt message in return.
“To Rhoudy’s Beloved Children,” our response begins. “Your note touched our hearts. We understand the difficulty of saying goodbye. Your bravery and strength are admirable. Sometimes, tough decisions are necessary, but Rhoudy knows the depth of your love for him.”
The shelter’s complete response, provided below, concludes with a pledge:
“Rhoudy had been moved to the Greenville Humane Society from another shelter, so his former family isnβt easy to track down. But his new caretakers would like to reach them.
“He came with the note when he was transferred, so we havenβt met the kids, unfortunately,β a spokesperson for the shelter said. βWe were hoping at some point our message would reach them and let them know heβs in great hands. Heβs doing so well!β
Fulfilling the promise made to Rhoudyβs loved ones, however, isnβt something the shelter can do alone.”
Rhoudy is currently available for adoption at the Greenville Humane Society, eagerly awaiting to find his forever home.
