“This definitely increased the morale of everyone here.”

Employees at Gator Ford recently heard something unusual coming from their break room ceiling.

At first, it was just a faint scratching sound — easy to ignore during a busy workday. But after nearly an hour of persistent noise, one employee decided to investigate.

That’s when the mystery took an adorable turn.

A Tiny Face in the Ceiling

Sales associate Christina climbed up and carefully removed one of the ceiling panels.

Looking down at her was a tiny baby squirrel.

The little animal had somehow crawled into the ceiling space and gotten stuck, unable to find his way back outside.

Christina gently picked up the frightened squirrel and carried him outdoors, hoping to release him safely near the trees.

But the situation turned out to be a little more complicated.

The Baby Didn’t Want to Leave

Once outside, the employees expected the squirrel to run off.

Instead, the baby clung to Christina and refused to leave her side.

That’s when another employee, Tom Dossett, stepped in to help. He gently held the squirrel close while the team tried to figure out what to do next.

They considered calling a wildlife rescuer — but then something unexpected happened.

A Mother Appears

While the employees were discussing their next step, an adult squirrel appeared nearby.

She watched closely from a short distance before slowly approaching the group — something wild squirrels rarely do.

The employees quickly realized what was happening.

The adult squirrel was the baby’s mother.

Without hesitation, Tom gently placed the baby squirrel where the mother could reach him.

Within moments, she rushed forward, grabbed her baby and carried him safely away.

A Rescue No One Expected

For the employees who witnessed it, the reunion was unforgettable.

Seeing the mother squirrel rush to retrieve her baby felt surprisingly emotional.

The workers may spend their days selling cars, but that day they helped reunite a wildlife family — and it lifted everyone’s spirits.

As Tom later explained, wildlife is common around their workplace, and helping animals in need simply felt like the right thing to do.

And for one tiny squirrel, it meant finding his way back home. 🐿️
