βOnce I started editing the photos, I started to realize how many he was actually lurking in …”
When photographer Baylee Dalton arrived at a picturesque farm in Sparta, Tennessee, to capture an engagement session, she was greeted by an unexpected star β a friendly barn cat named KitKat.
As soon as Dalton pulled up, KitKat jumped into her car as if to welcome her personally. He stayed close by while she prepared for the shoot, and Dalton assumed he was simply the farmβs unofficial greeter. But once the couple arrived, it became clear KitKat had bigger plans.

βWhen the couple saw KitKat following us to the field, they were so excited,β Dalton told The Dodo. βThey love cats and hoped heβd pop into a few pictures β we just didnβt realize heβd end up in most of them!β

Throughout the shoot, KitKat inserted himself into nearly every frame β lounging near the couple, posing proudly, and occasionally striking a model-worthy stance. He seemed delighted to be the center of attention.
βWhile editing, I realized he was in about 75% of the photos,β Dalton said with a laugh. βThe couple thought it was hilarious β they absolutely loved it.β

After posting the images on social media, Daltonβs photos β and KitKat β quickly went viral. Viewers everywhere fell in love with the charming cat and even turned spotting him in each image into a game.
Many wondered if KitKat had gone home with the photographer or the couple, but Dalton confirmed he already has a happy life on the farm.

βBarn cats are just as loved as indoor cats,β she said. βThey just have more mouse-chasing adventures.β
The impromptu feline cameo turned what was supposed to be a romantic engagement session into something even more memorable β a joyful reminder that sometimes, the best moments are the unplanned ones.
