Police Dog Cleared to Return to Duty

A police dog injured while on duty in Aberdeen has been given the all-clear and is preparing to return to active service.

Recovery After February Incident

Zeus, a six-year-old Belgian Malinois, required veterinary treatment after being injured during an incident in February. The injury occurred during a confrontation in which officers were reportedly attempting to disarm a man, and a police vehicle was driven toward him.

โ€œFit and Wellโ€ Again

Police Scotland shared the positive update on social media, describing the news as โ€œgreatโ€ and confirming that Zeus is now โ€œfit and wellโ€ and ready to resume his duties.

โ€œZeus and his handler are looking forward to getting back to work and continuing to keep people safe,โ€ the statement said. โ€œWeโ€™re extremely grateful for the support shown by members of the public.โ€

Court Proceedings Ongoing

Following the incident, Linas Luopas, 28, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court facing multiple charges. These include possession of a bladed article in a public place, assault, and an animal welfare-related charge.

He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
