β€œClearly someone threw them away there …” πŸ’”

A few weeks ago, Oksana Krasan was making her way home from work in Limassol, Cyprus, when she noticed a crowd gathered around a cardboard box at the side of the road near her apartment.

Curious, she peeked inside and found the source of the commotion: three tiny kittens, just a week old, huddled together. β€œIt was clear someone had discarded them there, as they still had their eyes closed,” Krasan shared in a Facebook post. β€œThey were very weak and crying out desperately.”

Despite the efforts of Krasan and the bystanders to locate their mother, no sign of her could be found. They sadly concluded that the kittens had likely been abandoned by someone unwilling to care for them. With no one in the group able to provide shelter for the tiny furballs, they waited in vain for someone to come forward to help. Hours passed, and the little ones remained without a home. Realizing she couldn’t bear their suffering any longer, Krasan made a decision. β€œI couldn’t listen to them suffering any longer,” she told The Dodo.

Without delay, she visited a local veterinarian to purchase a special kitten formula and sought advice from experts on how to foster them. She then created a cozy space for the kittens in her bathroom. Caring for them proved to be quite the challenge, so she enlisted a friend’s help to feed the kittens every few hours. Additionally, she began training them to use a litter box. Driven by her sense of responsibility, Krasan was determined to help them thrive. β€œOnce I decided to take them in, I couldn’t let them down,” she said. β€œI had to do everything I could to help them find a loving family.”

Under Krasan’s care, the kittens flourished, each revealing their playful and affectionate personalities. β€œThey’re incredibly playful, just like all kittens, and so sweet,” she remarked. To find them suitable homes, Krasan turned to Facebook, posting about the adorable trio. She quickly received a flood of inquiries, but she was selective about potential adopters. She was committed to ensuring that these kittens would never have to fend for themselves again.

β€œI received a lot of responses,” Krasan noted. β€œI’m going to conduct home checks to ensure they end up in the best possible hands.”
