Zillie isn’t just a beloved pet — she’s an essential part of the team. The sweet pup works alongside her mom, Joany, founder of Brink of Touch Candle Company in South Africa, where handcrafted soy candles, reed diffusers and room mists are made with care.

“She’s truly the heart of Brink of Touch,” Joany shared online. “Our boss lady, quality-control expert, loyal companion and full-time morale booster.”

More Than a Mascot

At the company’s home base, Zillie’s responsibilities go well beyond emotional support. Living in an area where wildlife sightings are part of daily life, the property is fenced to keep wild visitors at a safe distance — but Zillie still takes her security duties seriously.

She regularly performs her own version of “perimeter patrol,” making sure everything outside the fence is in order.

A Surprise Visitor on Patrol

In a video posted to Brink of Touch’s Facebook page, Zillie can be seen tucked beneath a hedge, blending into the greenery like a fluffy undercover agent. At first glance, she looks like an innocent bundle of fur — until her mission becomes clear.

Just beyond the fence, an antelope is calmly grazing.

Small Dog, Big Attitude

As Zillie keeps watch, her tail starts wagging and she lets out a few determined barks. The antelope — a nyala, to be precise — remains completely unbothered, continuing its snack as if nothing is happening.

Joany, watching the scene unfold, couldn’t help but laugh at her dog’s fearless dedication.

The Best Coworker You Could Ask For

Even if the nyala wasn’t impressed, Joany certainly was.

“The best fur baby a working mom could ask for,” she wrote.

Proof That Dogs Make Everything Better

Once again, Zillie proved why she proudly holds the title of “boss lady” at Brink of Touch Candle Co. Whether she’s boosting morale, guarding the grounds or simply being by her mom’s side, she shows that no business — or life — is complete without a very good dog. 🐾
