โ€œThe owner had no idea.โ€

As autumn arrives, squirrels are busy gathering and hiding food for the winter. However, not all hiding spots are ideal. Earlier this month, an unexpected scenario unfolded at Carlos Jeffers-Suffles’ automotive shop when a car rolled in for an oil change, only for the technician and his coworkers to discover a surprising situation under the hood.

Upon popping the hood, they found the engine compartment crammed full of pinecones. Astonishingly, the car was still running smoothly, despite the unusual cargo. โ€œThe owner had no idea,โ€ Jeffers-Suffles noted. To his surprise, he was paid for three hours of work cleaning out the pinecones, which he didnโ€™t mind at all.

However, the industrious squirrel responsible for the pinecone stash might have been less pleased with the turn of events. To ensure the pinecones didnโ€™t go to waste, Jeffers-Suffles and his team relocated them to a wooded area nearby, making them accessible for other animals.

With winter on the horizon, itโ€™s hoped that the squirrel will opt for a more suitable hiding spot for its food stash in the future. After all, it would be a shame for all that hard work to be in vain!
