Sunny the Puppy Rescued From a Busy Road in Bali Finds Hope and Happiness

On a drizzly day in Bali, Indonesia, animal rescuer Prue Barber was suddenly stopped in her tracks when she discovered a tiny, nearly hairless puppy shivering near a busy road.

“Sunny was just another pup in Bali, alone on the side of a road, traffic whizzing by, scared and starving,” Mission Paws’ible wrote on Instagram. “But she got lucky.”

A Scary Start for a Lonely Pup

Barber immediately knew she had to save the puppy, but she worried that any sudden movement might scare the poor girl further into traffic.

So, she crouched down to the puppy’s level and gently tried to lure her with food and a soothing voice. The pup was wary and bolted into an alleyway instead, but Barber didn’t give up.

With patience and loving words, Barber eventually gained the puppy’s trust. She named her Sunny, and once the little dog felt safe, Barber carefully scooped her up and carried her to the car.

The First Steps Toward a New Life

Though Sunny continued to shiver in her carrier, Barber could feel her anxiety slowly fade as they drove to the nearest veterinary clinic.

After a long day of exams and vaccinations, Sunny was declared healthy enough for foster care. She soon settled into her new temporary home through Mission Paws’ible, where her transformation began.

Once a skinny, nearly hairless dog with just a little blonde mohawk, Sunny blossomed into a chunky, fluffy pup full of life and joy.
