Puppy Rescued From Under Los Angeles Home Finds Safety and Love After Rough Start
Earlier this month, a quiet neighborhood in Los Angeles County became the site of a heartwarming rescue when a concerned passerby spotted a fluffy little head peeking from the foundation of a vacant house under construction. Realizing the puppy was alone and likely abandoned, the Good Samaritan reached out to Loganβs Legacy 29, a local animal rescue group led by Suzette Hall.

Hall, accompanied by her dedicated volunteer Mary Nakiso, immediately rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, the reality hit hard: the dog was just a 10-week-old puppy, living all by herself in a makeshift den beneath the house.
βShe is just a puppy,β Hall shared in a Facebook post. βThis was no way to start off her life.β
Neighbors had been helping the tiny dog survive β leaving out food, water, and even a blanket under the house for her to sleep on. But the moment Hall and Nakiso got close, the frightened puppy darted away, vanishing before they could safely catch her.

After setting up humane traps filled with treats, the team waited β but hours passed with no sign of the pup. Hall then decided to search the backyard, where she finally spotted the pupβs nervous little face peeking out from beneath a pile of scrap metal.
With the help of a kind neighbor, the rescuers carefully removed the metal pieces one by one until they could gently lift the terrified pup to safety. They named her Savannah.
βShe was shaking and scared,β Hall recalled.
Though frightened, Savannah was finally safe. After a comforting ride in Hallβs arms, she was brought to Camino Pet Hospital, where she was given a clean bill of health. From there, she was placed with a loving foster family through Second Leash On Life, where sheβs finally learning what love and safety feel like.

Now in foster care, Savannah continues to recover from the trauma of surviving alone at such a young age. While she waits for her forever family, sheβs receiving the care, affection, and warmth she had been missing β and thriving because of it.
βJust a tiny little puppy trying to survive under a house all alone,β Hall wrote. βBut now, she has a whole world ahead of her.β
