His bewilderment was palpable π
As Corn Flakes gazed out over the riverbank in McCurdy Park, a sense of confusion enveloped him. Despite the bright winter day casting a sparkling glow over the bubbling water, the brown and white pup couldn’t find comfort in the picturesque scene. Abandoned with his belongings strewn across the grass β a crate, toys, blankets, and two bags of food β Corn Flakes felt the weight of loneliness bearing down on him.
Just as he struggled to make sense of his predicament, a passerby spotted Corn Flakes roaming aimlessly. Acting swiftly, they confined him in his crate and promptly reached out to the local sheriffβs office for assistance.
Upon reaching the riverside, Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office deputy Kirt Stechschulte exercised caution as he approached Corn Flakes. Initially warned of the pup’s unfriendly demeanor, Stechschulte found himself pleasantly surprised upon meeting the pit bull mix face to face.
βAs I approached the dog, he greeted me with a wagging tail and even rolled over,β Stechschulte recounted. βWhen I secured a tether around him, he displayed excitement and friendliness towards me. It seemed he was simply frightened during the initial encounter.β
With Corn Flakes safely secured, Stechschulte transported him to the Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter. There, nestled in a cozy bed with ample food and water, Corn Flakes could finally unwind and find comfort.
