Most visitors to Chila Pets, a popular pet supplies store in Junín, Argentina, come during regular hours to shop for their furry friends. But one frequent visitor, a brown ball of fluff named Osito, doesn’t follow the rules — he drops by whenever he pleases, even after hours.
That’s exactly what happened the other day when the store owner was closing up. There, curled up on one of the dozens of beds for sale, was Osito taking a well-deserved nap.
“Yesterday, when closing the store, we found this,” Chila Pets wrote on TikTok. “Somebody stayed to sleep inside.”
Osito — whose name means “Bear” in Spanish — is no ordinary dog. He’s a “community dog,” meaning he doesn’t have a single owner. Instead, he enjoys the care and attention of neighbors all across the town, including the team at Chila Pets.
“We call Osito a stray because he likes to wander during the day, but at night, he sleeps at a neighbor’s place,” Chila Pets explained on TikTok.
Despite his lack of a permanent home, Osito is living his best life, surrounded by people who make sure he’s well-fed, safe, and loved. Over the years, he’s developed a special bond with the store, often dropping in for a snack or a nap.
At Chila Pets, Osito is guaranteed treats and affection. Sometimes, he even receives an invitation to the shopkeeper’s apartment above the store, where he curls up comfortably on one of their dog beds.
Whether he’s choosing a cozy spot to sleep or sniffing around for one last treat before bedtime, Osito is always welcome at Chila Pets. The owners love having him around, and he brings joy to everyone in the neighborhood.
