“Shyla, let down by humans her entire life, is now ready for the love and care she deserves.” Rescued from a backyard breeding and hoarding nightmare alongside numerous other dogs, she endured unspeakable conditions. Transported to an overcrowded shelter in Houston, her companions didn’t survive the ordeal, leaving Shyla the sole survivor.

Facing the grim possibility of euthanasia due to space constraints, Shyla’s fate hung in the balance. Yet, just as hope seemed to fade, a guardian angel emerged to intervene on her behalf.

“She was saved because a foster was able to get her five minutes after the deadline,” Chelsea Domaleski, a shelter volunteer, recounted.

Shyla’s foster had her for a month, but unfortunately, her circumstances recently changed and she’s now no longer able to keep her. Domaleski and her boyfriend have been paying for Shyla to stay at a boarding facility, but they won’t be able to afford it for much longer. What Shyla needs now more than anything in the world is a family to love her.β€œShe loves people and is super snuggly and friendly,” Domaleski said. β€œShe’s been living with a bunch of other dogs at the boarder’s house and has been getting along well with them all. She likes to go for walks and hang outside in the sun with the other pups.”

Shyla’s journey has been marked by unfortunate circumstances, hindering her quest for a loving home. Despite the challenges she’s faced, she exudes sweetness and an unwavering desire for affection. Her dedicated rescue companions are committed to securing her happily-ever-after.

β€œShe’s endured neglect and disappointment from humans throughout her life and is now eager for the love and care she truly deserves,” expressed Domaleski, highlighting Shyla’s resilient spirit and the hope for a brighter future ahead.

Shyla is currently on the path to recovery from heartworms and is in search of a foster or rescue to provide her with care during this healing period. Once she’s regained her health, she’ll be ready to embark on her journey to find her forever family. Returning to the shelter isn’t an option, as it could jeopardize her chance at survival.

Shyla needs someone who can offer her the support and care she requires, granting her the time she needs to ultimately step into the life she so rightfully deserves.
