Christmas came early this year for Tessa, Tarz, Stevie, and many other adoptable dogs at the Save-A-Dog Scheme, Inc. animal shelter in Victoria, Australia. While these pups are still waiting for their forever homes, their caretakers decided to bring some holiday cheer into their lives.
Last week, shelter staff surprised the dogs with a selection of presents, allowing them to choose their own favorite toys. Though it might sound like a simple gesture, the excitement and joy on the dogs’ faces made it truly special. One by one, the dogs showcased their unique personalities—some took their time to carefully select their toys, while others jumped in with boundless enthusiasm, eager to claim the first toy they could find.
The staff was overjoyed to watch the dogs react so happily. Some dogs gently picked up their new toys and cuddled with them, while others couldn’t wait to start playing. It was a heartwarming display of how every dog has its own character, even while waiting for their forever families.
While the toys were a welcome treat for the shelter pups, the greatest gift would be for each of them to find a home filled with love and warmth. As the staff at Save-A-Dog Scheme, Inc. wrote:
