Terrified Stray Dog Rescued From Florida Bridge Finds Her Happy Ending
Alone, trembling, and dangerously close to traffic, a stray dog found herself stranded on the shoulder of a Florida bridge. No one knew how she got there—whether she had been abandoned or wandered there by accident—but she had been trapped for over 12 terrifying hours.
Finally, a passing driver spotted the distressed pup and called Jacksonville ACPS for help.
Rescue personnel rushed to the scene, knowing time was running out. Among them was Kyle, who immediately sensed the urgency of the situation.
“She was so nervous,” Kyle recalled in a video for The Dodo.
With the bridge swaying in the wind and cars zooming past, Kyle took a deep breath and carefully approached the frightened pup.
“I knew this was a very dangerous situation,” he said.
Incredibly, the dog remained still as rescuers secured her with a rope and gently pulled her to safety. It was as if she understood she was finally being saved.
“I think she knew that she was gonna be safe,” Kyle said.
Once back on solid ground, the pup relaxed and gratefully accepted belly rubs from her rescuers. It was clear she was a sweet, loving dog—she just needed a second chance.
And that chance came quickly.
“She got adopted by a really cute family,” Kyle said. “She just went from fearful to the happiest dog.”
