Meet Polly, the Rescued Badger and Education Ambassador at Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
Polly is a rescued badger who lives at the Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Amarillo, Texas. As a non-releasable badger, Polly serves as the center’s beloved education ambassador, helping raise awareness about wildlife conservation.
Although Polly spends most of her time relaxing in the rehab center’s comfortable facilities and interacting with visitors and staff, she recently surprised everyone with a little unexpected adventure.
One evening, rehab director Stephanie Brady heard loud noises while working late. Initially worried about a possible break-in, she soon discovered the culprit — Polly had escaped her enclosure and was causing some harmless mischief.
Stephanie shared, “Polly threw herself a full-blown party — raiding the fridge, destroying plants, and ransacking cabinets like a pirate ship. She even dragged SIX stuffed toys into her bed!” After the fun, Polly gave Stephanie the most adorable guilty face, making it hard to stay mad.
This funny and heartwarming story of Polly’s antics quickly went viral online, shining a spotlight on the Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, which has cared for over 15,000 injured and orphaned animals since its founding in 2015.
