There’s a bear-y special new face at Edinburgh Zoo!
Last week Edinburgh Zoo welcomed Cipísek, Scotland’s one and only sloth bear, who arrived from Zlín Zoo in the Czech Republic.
At just two years old, Cipísek is already showing off his playful personality.
While he’s still settling into his brand-new, specially designed habitat, lucky visitors may catch a sneak peek as he begins to explore his outdoor space.
Cipísek won’t be our only sloth bear for long!
He’ll have a new companion from Europe joining him later this year – double the bears, double the fun!
Sloth bears face serious threats in the wild, from shrinking habitats to poaching. By caring for Cipísek, Edinburgh Zoo hope to raise awareness and help protect these amazing animals in the wild.
So, on your next visit, keep your eyes peeled and you might just bear witness to a charming new arrival!
