“They’re all the sweetest, most thankful babies ever” β€οΈ
The moment Suzette Hall, the founder of Loganβs Legacy 29, answered her phone last month, she sensed something was gravely amiss. The caller, a man from an industrial area outside Los Angeles, sounded frantic as he recounted discovering a solitary laundry basket on his worksite filled with fluffy puppies β and their mother tethered nearby.
No one could determine how long they had been abandoned or where they originated, but it was evident that this small family had been intentionally left behind. Fortunately, fate led the right person to their rescue just in time.
“[They were] literally dumped,” Hall shared on Facebook. “Thankfully, a worker noticed them.”
Without hesitation, Hall rushed to the industrial zone upon receiving the call. Her heart swelled with relief upon finding all three pups and their mother still alert in the basket.
“Mama was wagging her tail as soon as she saw me,” Hall recounted. “She knew help had arrived for her precious family.”
With a heavy heart, Hall untied the ropes binding the mother dog, later christened Polly, to her offspring. She could discern that they all required immediate medical attention β they were dehydrated and infested with ticks. However, she harbored hope that they would make a full recovery under the care of the veterinarian.
As Hall transported each pup to the car, she showered them with love and reassurance, promising them a brighter future. En route to Camino Pet Hospital, she reiterated just how cherished they were and vowed to find them loving homes once they regained their health.
At the vet hospital, Polly and her puppies β Bowie, Rolly Polly, and Fidget β received prompt treatment for their ailments. Though exhausted and frail, they were finally on the road to recovery.
Several weeks have passed since their rescue, and the laundry basket family is thriving. Bowie, one of the puppies, has already been adopted and is relishing life with his new family. Meanwhile, Rolly Polly, Fidget, and their devoted mother eagerly await their turn for a forever home, buoyed by their affectionate dispositions.
“They’re all the sweetest, most grateful babies,” Hall shared with The Dodo. “Mama hasn’t stopped wagging her tail.”
