While it’s unclear if the stuffed monkey knew its attacker, one thing is certain — it didn’t stand a chance.
Though official details remain scarce, a closer look at the crime scene photos reveals a major clue: lurking in the background is a very suspicious onlooker — none other than the department’s own Crisis Comfort K9, Butter.
Butter, a beloved member of the police department since 2023, has built a reputation as a gentle, comforting presence. He’s known for providing emotional support to individuals facing stress, trauma, and crisis, and frequently visits schools, hospitals, and community events to lift spirits.
