Duke is on the job at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). As summer travel kicks into full swing, the SFO Wag Brigade is ready to ease the stress for travelers. This team of therapy animals, which until recently consisted mostly of dogs along with a rabbit and a pig, has welcomed its newest member β a cat named Duke Ellington.
Rescued from a feral cat colony in San Francisco, Duke quickly showed his potential to touch many lives after being adopted. “[I]t quickly became clear to his new guardians that this was a special cat,” the Wag Brigade shared on Instagram.
Certified as an official therapy cat, Duke helps people of all ages manage stress, illness, and hardship, bringing smiles when they need it most. At 14 years old and with a decade of therapy animal certification, Duke is no stranger to the role.
Now a regular at SFO, Duke visits terminals to greet travelers before their flights. Itβs a win-win situation: he enjoys plenty of pets, and busy travelers benefit from lowered stress levels.
But it’s not all work for Duke. His personal Instagram showcases him in his element, lounging and enjoying life.
Next time you’re at SFO, look out for Duke in his pilot uniform β heβs hard to miss!
