He just wants to be somebody’s shadow ❤️🐈⬛
When Ravi was brought to a veterinary clinic in Connecticut, the explanation his family gave for surrendering him was unexpected—he was simply too affectionate.
The family had only had Ravi for a short time before deciding he wasn’t the right fit. Staff at the clinic were heartbroken for the 8-year-old cat and quickly reached out to The Little Guild, a rescue organization they often partner with. Without hesitation, the rescue welcomed Ravi into their care. As they got to know him, they understood what his previous owners meant—Ravi was incredibly affectionate—but they couldn’t fathom how that could ever be a reason to give him up.

“He has such a sweet and goofy personality,” said Jennifer Langendoerfer, executive director of The Little Guild, in an interview with The Dodo. “He adores cuddling with our staff and enjoys spending time with the other shelter cats. His absolute favorite thing is curling up in someone’s lap for a cozy nap.”
Ravi’s affectionate nature makes him wonderfully clingy—in the best possible way. He thrives on love and attention, and that’s exactly what he deserves.
Having spent about a month at The Little Guild, Ravi has adjusted well to shelter life, but he’s eager to find his forever home. And with the overwhelming interest in him, that shouldn’t take long.

“We’ve received over 100 adoption applications for Ravi,” Langendoerfer shared. “Our small team is carefully reviewing them to ensure he finds the perfect match.”

Ravi’s needs for his future home are simple: unconditional love and endless cuddles. “He would do well in almost any home,” Langendoerfer added. “His ideal adopter is someone who enjoys snuggling and doesn’t mind a furry little shadow following them around, always seeking affection.”
