Theyβd been fending for themselves for days π
In Los Angeles County, three neglected and abandoned dogs found solace in each otherβs company when they were left in an unfamiliar neighborhood. The trio, who had endured their own forms of neglect, spent several days huddled together under bushes for warmth and comfort. They relied on each other for support until a kind neighbor stumbled upon them.

When the neighbor saw the dogs, they all scattered except for one β a fluffy, white dog named Lemondrop. Lemondrop, injured and unable to run due to a hurt leg, stayed behind, and the neighbor quickly took action, scooping her up and rushing her home to call for help. The call went out to Loganβs Legacy 29, and founder Suzette Hall was quick to respond, dispatching a volunteer, Mary Nakiso, to help rescue the other two dogs.

The dogs, frightened and hiding under a car, were difficult to capture. But with some patience and persistence, the team was able to rescue Lemondrop and her friend, Tudy Bloom. However, the third dog, Kermit, had run off and ended up in a neighborβs fenced yard. Hall was able to gain access and rescue Kermit, who was found with blood coming from his mouth, likely from injuries sustained on the streets.

Once all three dogs were safely in the care of the rescue, they were taken to the vet for checkups, where they received much-needed care.
Lemondropβs leg injury turned out to be a shattered kneecap, and after an amputation, she adjusted well to her new life.

Kermit had lost his front teeth, but with pain medication and treatment, he too began to heal. The dogs also received baths and haircuts, with Tudy Bloom undergoing a dramatic transformation from being matted and dirty to a clean, happy dog.

All three pups β Lemondrop, Tudy Bloom, and Kermit β were placed in loving foster homes where they began to thrive. While they await their forever homes, their story is one of resilience, and their rescue has been described as another little miracle.

These three pups are now safe, happy, and on their way to finding their permanent families, thanks to the compassion and quick actions of the community and rescuers who gave them a second chance.
