Police officers swiftly responded to a motorway emergency to rescue a distressed swan. Numerous calls flooded into Nottinghamshire Police reporting a potentially injured bird on the M1 last Thursday.
Upon arrival, law enforcement located the swan near the A610 slip road, but attempts to encourage it to take flight proved unsuccessful. Thinking on their feet, the officers decided to transport the bewildered bird in the back of their patrol car, ensuring its safety.
Updating the community on Facebook, the police force humorously commented, “Thankfully for one of our PCSOs, it wasn’t his first rodeo in rescuing a swan.” The rescue mission reached a successful conclusion as the officers safely returned the swan to its habitat at Attenborough Nature Reserve.
In their social media post, the police stated, “The swan is now back to living its best life.”
