“This might be the best first date I’ve ever had.”
Before meeting her Dodo Dream Date for the first time, Leslie Bibb was feeling a bit nervous. She wasn’t sure if her date would appreciate the flowers she had picked out or if they would click—but the moment Dove ran through the door, it was instant love. Leslie’s date, Dove, had been single for three months, and Leslie was genuinely surprised.
“What’s funny about Dove is that she thinks she’s a lap dog,” Leslie said in a video for The Dodo. To make the date extra special, Leslie decided to focus on self-care, so she brought in a yoga instructor to guide them through some moves. Leslie got into downward dog, and Dove quickly crawled underneath her, showing off her own version of the pose. Then, when Leslie laid down in Shavasana, Dove happily joined her in that pose as well.
“This is called one-handed petting Shavasana,” Leslie joked.
After yoga, the two enjoyed a pampering session, complete with a pawcuterie board in bed—an experience that felt like a luxurious retreat, much like the one Leslie had while filming The White Lotus in Thailand.
“I had six months of self-care while working, which usually doesn’t happen,” Leslie explained. They spent the day cuddling and snacking, and for Leslie, it was the ultimate form of self-care.
“I think self-care is doing anything that makes you happy,” Leslie said. “For me, dogs make me happy. I honestly don’t know if I could live a life without them.”
After their snack time, the pair enjoyed some puperitas by the pool.
“This might be the best first date I’ve ever had,” Leslie said, content and happy in her perfect moment with Dove.
