He was completely unbothered π
Maddy Hernandez and her family were spending the day at Rincon Thermals & Adventures in Costa Rica, looking forward to a fun outdoor adventure. One of the activities was a waterslide, and their family happened to be the first group of the day to try it.
Hernandez was originally supposed to go down the slide first. But her 6-year-old son strongly insisted that he wanted to be the first one to ride. Rather than argue, Hernandez decided to let him have his way.
She watched as her son waved goodbye and disappeared down the slide. Everything seemed normal β until she met him at the bottom and he casually told her something unbelievable.
According to him, he had seen a snake on the waterslide.
At first, Hernandez didnβt really believe him. Her son was so calm about the whole thing that it didnβt seem possible. She noticed staff members searching for a loose snake nearby, but she still didnβt think her child had actually encountered it during his ride.
Later, when the family went to look at the photos from their adventure, Hernandez realized her son had been telling the truth the entire time.
In the pictures, her son was sliding down the waterslide with a 6-foot boa right under his feet.
Hernandez was shocked. After briefly feeling bad for doubting him, she did what any parent with proof of such a bizarre moment might do β she bought the photos immediately.
Thankfully, the adventure park staff handled the situation quickly. They located the snake and safely moved it to another area, away from the slide and the visitors.
The staff worried that Hernandezβs son might be scared after such a close encounter, but he was completely unfazed. His reaction was simple: he reminded his mom that he had told her what happened.
To make the story even funnier, he went down the slide again afterward β this time without any surprise snake companion.
Although Hernandez had planned to go first, it ended up being her son who had the unforgettable encounter. Luckily, no one was hurt, the snake was safely relocated, and her son now has a story few kids can beat.
