He was completely unbothered 😂

Maddy Hernandez and her family were spending the day at Rincon Thermals & Adventures in Costa Rica, excited for a mix of fun and adventure. One of the activities they were looking forward to was the waterslide, and their group happened to be the first one of the day to try it.

Hernandez was originally supposed to go down first. But her 6-year-old son had other plans. He insisted that he wanted to be the first rider, and after a little back-and-forth, Hernandez decided it wasn’t worth arguing over. She let him go ahead.

Her son waved goodbye and slid away, and everything seemed completely normal.

But when Hernandez met him at the bottom, he calmly told her something unbelievable: there had been a snake on the slide.

At first, Hernandez didn’t believe him. He seemed so relaxed about it that the story sounded impossible. She did notice staff members searching for a loose snake, but she still didn’t think her son had actually been involved.

Later, when the family went to buy photos from their adventure, Hernandez discovered the truth. In the pictures, her son was sliding down the waterslide with a 6-foot boa right beneath his feet.

The proof was impossible to ignore.

After a brief moment of guilt for doubting him, Hernandez immediately bought the photos. It was too strange, funny and unforgettable not to keep.

Thankfully, the adventure park staff responded quickly. They found the snake and safely moved it to a better location, away from the slide and visitors.

The staff worried the little boy might be scared after such a surprising encounter, but he was completely calm. His only reaction was to remind his mom that he had told her the truth.

Even more surprisingly, he went down the slide again later — this time without a snake waiting underneath him.

Although Hernandez had planned to be the first one down, things worked out differently. Her son ended up with an incredible story, a wild set of photos and a vacation memory his family will probably never forget.
