β€œAs soon as someone would even look at her, she would run for her tiny life …”

It was a scorching September day in Los Angeles when dog rescuer Suzette Hall received an urgent call from the local jail. A guard reported a small, furry intruder running across the property, refusing to leave.

As soon as Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, saw a picture of the tiny Chihuahua-like pup, she dropped everything to help. She learned that the dog had been living in the jail’s parking lot for two weeks, but despite efforts from the staff to help her, the little pup was too frightened to trust anyone.

The guards had set up a bed for her and were feeding her, but whenever someone tried to approach, she would run away. β€œThis tiny, little girl was in a jail parking lot for two weeks,” Hall shared on Facebook. β€œThe employees brought a bed for her and would feed her. But as soon as someone would even look at her, she would run for her tiny life.”

By the time Hall arrived, the temperature had soared to 105Β°F. She feared the pup, with no shelter from the sun, was in danger of overheating. But when Hall found the pup, she was resting peacefully in her bed despite the intense heat.

β€œWhen I got there last night and saw her sleeping in the little bed, my heart sank,” Hall said. β€œ[She was] so tiny.” But the moment the pup saw Hall, she bolted, running as fast as she could. Hall knew she had to act quickly.

She set up a humane trap near the pup’s bed and waited, hidden, for her to return. After a brief wait, Hall received word from the guard that the pup was heading back to her bed. With a quiet, slow approach, Hall checked the trap and found the pup safely inside.

β€œI cried because her two weeks of being alone were finally over,” Hall wrote. β€œThis little, tiny girl was finally safe.”

Hall took the pup to Camino Pet Hospital, where she named her Tiny. The staff at the hospital cared for her, making sure she was healthy and nourished. A few weeks later, Tiny was ready for adoption, and soon found her perfect forever home.

Tiny’s life has drastically improved since her rescue. She’s now enjoying her new family and gearing up for her first winter in a loving home, complete with a cozy coat and boots.

β€œTiny has been adopted,” Hall wrote on Facebook. β€œLook at her in her little coat and boots. I just can’t take the cuteness overload.” Thanks to the jail employees’ concern and Hall’s dedication, Tiny now has a bright future ahead.

β€œHappy life, sweet baby girl,” Hall shared. β€œI love you so much.”
