Rising Temperatures
With warmer air moving in, BBC Weather forecasters predict temperatures will climb into the mid-to-high teens, with areas like Cambridge, Bedford, and Northampton reaching 18ยฐC (64ยฐF).
This week, temperatures will be up to seven degrees above the March average, providing a taste of early spring warmth. However, the highest March temperature on record remains 25.6ยฐC, which was recorded in Mepal, Cambridgeshire, back in 1968.
Record Spring Equinox Temperatures
For the warmest Spring Equinox on record, Cambridge Botanic Gardens reached 21.5ยฐC on 20 March 1972โa day still celebrated in the region’s weather history.
