“He was lucky to be found!”
All alone and nestled under a pile of vibrant green leaves just off a walking path in Victoria, Australia, a frightened baby animal waited, unsure of what to do. Too young to survive on his own, the fuzzy creature needed a miracle.
Fortunately, a Good Samaritan spotted the animalβs perky ears peeking through the foliage. Soon, the news reached the staff at Central Goldfields Wildlife Rescue, who eagerly came to the rescue.
Eventually, a rescuer arrived to bring the wallaby to safety. βPoor little darling should still be warm in his motherβs pouch,β the rescue noted in their post. βThankfully, rescuer Trevor was able to go out and find him.β
At the rescue center, the wallaby gratefully received expert care. βHe has been named Bono, and he is settling in well, receiving specialized formula every four hours,β India Armstrong of Central Goldfields Wildlife Rescue shared.
These days, Bono spends his afternoons with other orphaned wallabies, gaining strength in preparation for his return to the wild. βHe will spend 12 months being raised in care before being released back into the wild,β Armstrong added.
