A fox in Bridgwater, Somerset, found itself in a precarious situation when its head became trapped in a plastic container. Staff at the Secret World animal rescue center were alerted after the distressed animal was discovered in a garden.
Rescue Operation
Volunteers from Secret World quickly arrived on the scene and managed to contain the fox in a cage. However, they were unable to remove the container by themselves. The fox was then transported to Green Pastures Veterinary Practice in Weston-super-Mare, where the team sedated him and successfully removed the container.
Recovery and Release
Charlotte Wroe from Secret World reported, “We brought him back to the centre so we could monitor him after his ordeal and sedation. He was really tuckered out and slept most of the day snuggled into his blanket.” After a period of rest and recovery, the fox was released back into the wild, where he could once again roam freely.
A Reminder for the Community
The rescue center took the opportunity to remind the public about the importance of responsible waste disposal. “This is a good reminder to always put your rubbish in the bin because it may be a danger to wildlife,” Secret World emphasized on their social media channels. The incident serves as a poignant reminder of the potential hazards that litter can pose to animals.
