He was so confused πŸ’”

When Triton arrived at VCA Greater Savannah Animal Hospital with a broken leg, it seemed he was finally going to get the care he needed. But after parking, his owner took him out of the car β€” then drove off, leaving Triton alone and bewildered.

Heartbroken and confused, Triton watched his owner disappear. Thankfully, hospital staff noticed him in the parking lot and quickly stepped in to help. They contacted the Humane Society for Greater Savannah, then took Triton inside, performed X-rays, and cast his leg β€” all free of charge. Their only concern was helping Triton, who had already faced so much hardship.

The Humane Society for Greater Savannah offered to take Triton in and began searching for a foster family. They hoped to find him a peaceful home where he could heal away from the hustle of the shelter. β€œHe’s a timid boy who just needs love and really opens up when he feels safe,” shared Nina Schulze, the Humane Society’s adoptions manager, with The Dodo.

Fortunately, a foster family was found quickly, and Triton is now recovering in a calm, loving environment. β€œHe’s doing wonderfully, healing in peace and quiet with a whole lot of love,” the shelter wrote on Facebook. β€œWe’re so proud of how quickly he’s adapted to his cast, and we love his little hop out the front door. This sweet boy deserves ALL the love!”

Triton’s journey had a rough beginning, but he’s finally experiencing what it means to be loved β€” and he’s never looking back.
