“My life completely changed.”
Friends Andrea and Jessy were biking along a muddy mountain trail in Mexico when an unexpected surprise appeared—an entire litter of puppies sprinted right up to them. The two friends were shocked; this wasn’t part of their plans, but it changed everything.
“There were six puppies, and we didn’t see any dog mom or any other dog,” Andrea shared in a video for The Dodo.

With a huge storm approaching and no mother in sight, Andrea and Jessy knew the puppies wouldn’t survive alone. The muddy roads were dotted with deep puddles, so the only option was to tuck the puppies safely into their shirts and ride down the mountain together. Fortunately, the pups were calm and ready to be rescued.
“They just stayed still all the way,” Andrea said.
The friends biked 12 miles carrying the puppies to a friend’s house—the closest safe spot they could find. Then Andrea biked to her car and drove back to bring the puppies home.
“My life completely changed,” Andrea said.
After a vet checkup, Andrea fostered all six pups herself, naming them Rita, Roma, Roberta, Ramona, Rigo, and Rogelio. She ended up adopting four of them.
Now, Andrea is building a farm designed especially with her rescue pups in mind. What was supposed to be a peaceful mountain bike ride turned into a life-changing rescue mission—and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I still think that day has been one of the best days of my life,” Andrea wrote on TikTok.
