She’s super allergic, but the cat didn’t care.
Emily Went to Rent a U-Haul — and Left With a Pregnant Cat Who Changed Her Life
When Emily arrived at a U-Haul lot, she was expecting a moving truck — not a life-changing moment. But as she waited, a cat suddenly wandered over and climbed right into her lap.
Surprised but intrigued, Emily asked around and learned the cat, later named Lou, had been living on the lot. Locals described her as feral, though the way she clung to Emily said otherwise.
It turned out Lou wasn’t just looking for attention — she was looking for help. Because as Emily soon discovered, Lou was very pregnant.
“I think the cat distribution has finally caught up to me — even though it knows I’m allergic,” Emily joked on TikTok.
Despite her allergies, Emily couldn’t walk away. She took Lou to the vet, who confirmed the kittens were due very soon — and advised her to get the cat home fast.
“I am currently sitting in my bathtub with her, prepared to help her give birth,” Emily shared.
Lou didn’t want Emily to leave her side for a second. “I’m so confused because the people at U-Haul said she was a feral cat,” Emily said. “But, like, she is just the sweetest Velcro baby. If I move, she moves.”
Though Emily is a certified doula for humans, this was her first time assisting a cat birth. But Lou handled it like a pro.
“There are TWO PERFECT KITTENS!” Emily announced — and before long, Lou delivered four healthy babies.
Since then, Lou has proven to be a loving and attentive mom. Emily, despite her cat allergy and never planning to have a pet, has fully embraced her unexpected new role. She’s adopted Lou and will find homes for the kittens when the time is right.
Emily went to rent a truck that day, ready to start a new chapter — and thanks to Lou, that chapter now includes one very special cat and her tiny, growing family.
